Tori Etherington, Psychologist Supervisor
Tori is an experienced fully registered Psychologist, with experience working in schools and private practice. She currently divides her time between supervising school psychologists, working at Bloom Community, and wrangling her two young daughters and a cheeky cavoodle! As an ADHDer who received a late diagnosis, Tori is passionate about providing neuroaffirming support and advocating for neurodiverse individuals. Tori loves working with children of all ages but is especially experienced in working with older children and adolescents. Tori’s experience in school psychology allows her to treat a broad spectrum of concerns. Her special interests include Autism Spectrum Disorder, mood disorders, anxiety, and school refusal. Tori employs a range of therapeutic approaches, including CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and strengths-based psychology. Tori is a dynamic public speaker and group facilitator. She is trained as a Tuning into Teens facilitator and also runs client groups, such as the "Cool Kids" anxiety program and transition to High school sessions. She enjoys conducting professional development courses with educational professionals and delivering engaging and highly practical presentations to parents.
Tori prides herself on developing warm and supportive relationships, with both clients and supervisees, based on understanding and mutual respect. Tori is an advocate for accessing psychologists in schools, and providing mental health support to vulnerable students and their families. She enjoys supporting provisional psychologists to find their strengths as clinicians, and works to provide psychologically safe supervision, to allow for professional and personal growth.
