effectiveness score

A highly publicly reported score for an Australian Youth Mental Health Service.

Data sources: Department of Health (2022), KPMG; J. Pirkis (2022), University of Melbourne.

*In 2019–20, less than half of consumers (47 per cent) who accessed a child and adolescent or child and youth mental health service experienced a positive change in their mental health after receiving treatment (as measured by the Health of the Nation Outcome Scale). This concerning outcome suggests that current services are providing too little and suboptimal types of treatment, care and support to children and young people.

“Psychs in Schools has been connected with our school since 2023. We have found communication with their team to be clear, timely and proactive. Administrative processes, including the online consent form, have supported accessibility for families. Having a psychologist on-site has supported coordination within the school environment. We have appreciated working with the Psychs in Schools team and look forward to ongoing collaboration.”
