Clare Panetta is an Educational and Developmental Psychologist renowned for her unwavering dedication to enriching the lives of young people. With a passion for fostering positive change, Clare’s career has been characterised by a profound commitment to understanding and nurturing the holistic development of young minds. She has accumulated extensive experience and knowledge in this field, making her a highly skilled professional who understands the complexities of child development, educational systems and mental health.
Graduating with a Master’s Degree in Educational and Developmental Psychology from The University of Melbourne in 2006, Clare went on to work in educational settings for 14 years before moving into private practice. During her studies and afterwards, Clare kept up research in the areas of adolescent coping and sleep. She is also recognized for her work in creatively applying performance psychology principles to students in schools. Her published program and research explored the intersection of psychology and performance, offering insights into how young people can harness their potential and thrive in various domains, including academics, sports, and the arts.
Clare derives genuine satisfaction from working with children and teens to help them overcome challenges that are present due to mental health difficulties, family and social stressors, grief and loss and learning difficulties. She is warm, caring, creative and expects her clients to develop lasting skills from their work together. Clare is a neuro-diversity affirming psychologist; her approach emphasises the strengths and capabilities of neurodivergent individuals and she aims to create environments that accommodate their unique needs and preferences.
Clare is passionate about education consultancy and collaborates closely with schools, designing innovative initiatives tailored to meet the diverse needs of students. Whether it's promoting inclusive practices, supporting children with learning differences, or fostering socio-emotional wellbeing, Clare remains steadfast in her commitment to empower young people to reach their potential.
Clare is an AHPRA Board Approved Supervisor, and over the last seven years she has developed her craft to provide supervision that meets the unique needs of the psychologist and their stage of career and needs. Her approach ensures psychological safety for the supervisee and a reflective learning space for professional exploration and growth.
Beyond her professional endeavours, Clare is passionate about raising her own children to thrive, and maintains her own positive wellbeing through running, family time, travel and reading.
